Originated at Magnolia Gardens in South Carolina, USA and first listed in 1942.
Metallic red, paeony-form flowers, usually with a few golden stamens intermingled with the petals. Large, wide, glossy green leaves and a slow, spreading growth habit. Free-flowering in March/April.
