An old variety but still widely grown across Europe, and valued for being one of the very first japonicas to begin flowering, often before Christmas. The full, paeony-form flowers have white petals with a creamy tinge in the centre and appear between November and February. The plant habit is upright and open, with deep green, glossy leaves.
