	Originated by Neville Haydon in New Zealand, first flowering in 1984.

Takanini is noted for its dark red, anemone form flowers and an exceptionally long flowering period - often in flower in late November and continuing into March. The habit is upright and  very open as a young plant, becoming more dense as it matures.
